Yves Saint Laurent was established in 1961. The brand's creation stemmed from the love between two men, namely Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé. In 1966, the fashion house revolutionised fashion as well as women's wardrobes by introducing the women's tuxedo. Women had become “free” thanks to trousers, a garment which had until then been considered to be exclusive to men. In 1973, Yves Saint Laurent started to diversify by launching the brand's first perfume which they called “Rive Gauche”, followed by beauty products and make-up, leather goods and accessories. The famous logo, comprised of the intertwined letters YSL and created by graphic designer Cassandre, can be found on a number of Yves Saint Laurent leather goods and accessories. Overstitched on leather or in golden metal, the letter Y slowly started to replace Cassandre's logo. In 1999, Yves Saint Laurent was acquired by Gucci. In 2008, Mr Yves Saint Laurent passed away, leaving an immutable mark on the world of fashion and luxury. Which second-hand Yves Saint Laurent will you choose?
